Leicester Racecourse is hosting an 8 race card on the turf track.

Race 1: 2.10 – Wymesworld Conditional Stakes – class 3 – 2yo – 7f9y

Only the 4 runners to kick of proceedings with Noble Metal having course and distance winning form breaking his maiden at the 1st attempt. He has been tried and found out at a higher level since and although by no means ruled out he will need to progress to win this. Trading Profit is well clear on official ratings and he handles soft ground. Complicit (IRE) was well backed on British debut and made no mistake despite the rider losing his iron. He finished 2nd last time out at Salisbury on heavy ground. He holds Trading Profit on a line through Figure Of Speech although it is dangerous to take that form literally as it was run on testing ground. Focusofourthoughts (IRE) is going the right way building on the promise of his debut 3rd to win his next 2. Not a race we could get involved betting wise but we think the one to beat is Complicit at 7/4

Race 2: 2.40 – Whissendine Selling Stakes – class 6 – 3-4yo – 7f9y

Red Art (IRE) is a course and distance winner and comes into this is decent form having been running well in handicaps. He is well clear on official ratings and should prove too strong for these. Mrs Warren got off the mark 2 runs back at Catterick and comes into this on the back of a 4th on the AW. She has form on soft ground and she is one of the more likely types dropped into selling company. Global Icon has some decent form in the book whilst trained by Richard Hannon and was regressive when switched to Johnny Murtagh. He should be competitive dropped to selling company but he is not one to put maximum faith in. Not a race we could get involved in betting wise. Charlie Hills has a handle on Mrs Warren as he used to train her and we think he holds the upper hand here with Red Art at 4/9

Race 3: 3.10 – EBF Reference Point Maiden Stakes Colts & Geldings div 1 – class 4- 2yo – 7f9y

Rock Of Dreams (IRE) sets the standard for those who have run. He finished 2nd on debut at Windsor and matched that form last time out at Goodwood on his first start since being gelded. He is a half brother to Muharrib who broke his maiden at the 32rd attempt and has progressed into a 94 rated horse. He has form on good to soft ground but he may not want it too soft. Charlie Hills has a 25% s/r in maidens at Leicester in the past 5 years. Takreym (IRE) looks the part on paper for a yard that is in fine form. Roger Varian has a 18.75% s/r in maidens over the past 5 years. He is a brother to useful 5f sprinter Clodilla and has a useful sprint pedigree. His sire Clodovil has a 17.86% s/r over course and distance on soft ground. William Haggas has an excellent record here in maidens as does Mark Johnston but neither Bilimbi (IRE) or Sir Guy Porteous (IRE) have shown enough to think they can win this and will have to ave improved markedly to win this. The market will speak in favour of the chances of Takreym and strong support could be telling but we think the one to beat is Rock Of Dreams at 10/3

Race 4: 3.40 – EBF Reference Point Maiden Stakes Colts & Geldings div 2 – class 4 – 2yo – 7f9y

Rapid Advance makes plenty of appeal on paper being a half brother to La Noe and out of a winning half sister to Snow Ridge The yard is in fine form and the booking of Ryan Moore adds further lustre. The market will guide to his chances but he is very much of interest. Cordite (IRE) stepped up on his debut run to finish 2nd over 5f at Beverley. He was allowed to go off 50/1 on debut but was sent of favourite at Beverley suggesting a big run was expected and it will be interesting if he comes in for the same support today. Despot (IRE) shaped with promise over course and distance on debut and improved on his next run to finish 4th at Warwick. He holds Samhain on that run and is not ruled out if progressing again. Yagheer (IRE) also hails from the Varian yard and makes some appeal on breeding. He’s a half brother to Solar Deity and Ansaab but looks the yards second string on jockey bookings. The market will reveal the fancied runners, Cordite sets a decent standard but we think that the one to beat is Rapid Advance at 2/1

Race 5: 4.10 – Wreake Fillies Conditions Stakes – class 3 – 3yo+ – 1m60y

Trapeze has been off the track since June here she finished last in a Listed race at Ascot. She broke her maiden on heavy ground at Sailisbury and has claims on her 2nd behind Ribbons at Goodwood. She is in very good hands and it will be interesting to see how she fares in the betting. Princess Loulou (IRE) is the least exposed in the field and is going the right way. She has progressed with each run to get off the mark last time at Thirsk beating subsequent scorer Bussato by 9 lengths. She has plenty to find on ratings but she is going the right way for an in form yard. Beautiful View stepped up on her debut promise to get off the mark at the 2nd attempt at Newmarket. She hasn’t been in the same form since in 3 subsequent runs but this half sister to the smart Ballesteros could be ground dependant. Her best form has come on soft ground. Princess Loulou is the progressive horse but we feel that the one to beat is Beautiful View at 3/1

Race 6: 4.40 – Fosse Way Classified Claiming Stakes – class 6 – 3-5yo(0-70) – 1m3f183y

Flamingo Beat has held his form well since getting off the mark at Beverley placing in 3 of his last 4 races. He makes plenty of appeal dropped into claiming company, however he is unproven on soft or heavy ground. Yasir (USA) returned to winning ways in August at Catterick on soft ground. He ha run over a variety of trips since but he makes plenty of appeal dropped into claiming grade. Vexillium (IRE) is dropped straight into this grade on his first start for this yard. He was successful when last seen on the level when trained by Mick Channon and had winning hurdles form for Harry Fry. It will be interesting to see how he fares in the market. Calon Lad (IRE) is the least exposed runner in the race and has shown enough to win a race of this nature. He makes plenty of appeal from the foot of the weights. We think this is between Calon Lad and Yasir with slight preference for Yasir at 11/8

Race 7: 5.10 – Irish Stallions Farms EBF Maiden Stakes – class 4 – 2yo – 1m60y

Gothic was allowed to go off at 33/1 on debut suggesting he would improve for the run. He performed with promise despite the odds and he is sure to improve for the run and makes plenty of appeal here. Palace Dragon (IRE) has shown little on both starts and looks a typical stable handicap project. Hooded (USA) is wroth a market check for a market that takes it time with its youngsters. Alex My Boy (IRE) makes some appeal on paper for a yard that can ready one first time. Seek A Star (USA) has a decent middle distance pedigree and is another that is worth a market check. A tricky race to call with most of these hailing from yards that take their time with their juveniles. Gothic looks sure to go close and Alex My Boy makes some appeal first time out. Our token selection is Gothic at 4/9

Race 8: 5.45 – Stewards Handicap – class 5 – 3yo+(0-75) – 1m1f218y

Ty Gwr has shaped wll on 2 of his 3 starts since joining Brian Ellison. He is a master with these types and he is sure to be winning before long. A wide draw doesn’t help his cause here and testing ground is an unknown. Markttag is still a maiden after 6 runs but is getting closer to breaking it with each run. He comes into this on the back of a decent 2nd behind Cashpoint at Windsor and looks to be the one to beat. He is unproven on soft ground but it should be ok on breeding. His sire Maduro is 0/14 at the track which is more of a concern. Mash Potato (IRE) has had a progressive summer winning twice and placing in several others. He comes into this on the back of a 2nd last time out at Ayr. He handles soft ground and with Connor Beasleys claim he rates as the one they have to beat. Mazaaher is still lightly raced after just 9 runs and is not on a bad mark. He has to prove he stays this far and wants soft ground. He hails from a shrewd yard and strong support in the betting has to be noted. Joh Hills also sends out the lightly raced Soul Intent (IRE) but he has to prove he acts on turf. Kelpi Blitz (IRE) is fully exposed but has claims on his best form and is closely matched with Marttag on a line through Cashpoint. Ever Fortune (USA) showed progressive form last year winning 2 of his first 4 races. He finished 2nd behind Ximbama at Epsom on his 2nd start this year showing he had trained on and he can be excused his last run which came over a trip too short. She has form on soft ground. We think the one to beat is Ever Fortune at 12/1
