Race 1 – 2:15 – Fenwick of Leicester Fillies´ Handicap – Class 5 – 5f 218y

Race Analysis:

This potentially revolves around whether or not Syrian Pearl can bring her much-improved polytrack form back to grass. The selection also has to cope with a drop from 7f to 6f, however that shouldn’t be a problem given how much dash the grey filly has demonstrated to score at Lingfield the last twice. Invoke (IRE) is in with shout if repeating her latest Salisbury second, while Tregereth (IRE) looks like she’s ready to strike again after a better run at Windsor. Brian Baugh had a winner here at the last meeting and there could another in the pipeline if Elite Freedom (IRE) can build on her latest career-best third of 12 at Bath.

Selection: Syrian Pearl

Race 2 – 2:50 – Available Car Selling Stakes – Class 5 – 5f 218y

Race Analysis:

Invincible Wish (IRE) will know plenty more about what’s required after showing a little bit of promise on his Carlisle debut, nor will this drop straight into selling company do his prospects any harm either. Astrea should also be involved having improved to take third in a small-field Beverley claimer last time, her chances not helped that day by a hefty bump at the furlong pole. However, the one taken to trump that pair is Kidmeforever, who gets the nod having run with plenty of credit on her last two starts at Ripon and Newbury.

Selection: Kidmeforever

Race 3 – 3:25 – EBF Stallions Breeding Winners Fillies´ Handicap – Class 4 – 1m 1f 218y

Race Analysis:

As if getting mugged right on the line wasn’t bad enough, Asyad (IRE) was put up 6lb for that agonising last-gasp Newbury defeat. Despite the attentions of the handicapper she should still run another cracker, even so Carnevale is marginally preferred. Ralph Beckett’s filly slayed her rivals in a Newbury maiden 23 days ago and the assessor must have been in a generous mood since her opening mark is by no means insurmountable. Completing the shortlist is Compton Bird, a tough and genuine mare with 5 wins from just 24 starts to her name.

Selection: Carnevale

Race 4 – 4:00 – Lexus Leicester Handicap – Class 3 – 7f 9y

Race Analysis:

Tamayuz Star (IRE) won over course and distance for Richard Hannon and can now do for George Margarson, who has his string in superb nick. The selection has dropped another 3lb despite running really well in the 7f Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot when toeing along the field for much of the race, which takes some doing in such an ultra-competitive 28-runner handicap. Related is a reliable sort who looks sure to run another big race having twice performed with credit at Goodwood of late, while connections of Compton will be looking to recoup losses after a big gamble went astray when last seen at Doncaster’s Lincoln meeting.

Selection: Tamayuz Star (each-way)

Race 5 – 4:35 – Pochins Breeders Backing Racing EBF Rating Related Maiden Stakes – Class 5 – 7f 9y

Race Analysis:

Mick Appleby has the happy knack of improving horses acquired from other yards and on his first start since leaving Mick Channon Heska (IRE) is well worth a betting check for any signs of stable confidence. Stroll On (IRE) could find a small race judged on her latest Bath second, and if the blinkers have the desired effect Persian Bolt (USA) can’t be ruled. However, having said all of that, Sir Michael Stoute’s lightly-raced Matravers could yet prove different gravy to his rivals in this weak maiden.

Selection: Matravers

Race 6 – 5:05 – East Midlands Ceramics Handicap – Class 6 – 1m 60y

Race Analysis:

It could pay to stick with those at the head of the handicap starting with Prince Of Burma (IRE), who landed some nice bets when scoring with ease at Lingfield last time. Sonnetation (IRE) was also a winner at that self-same all-weather track on her most recent start, although it was only on the nod having nearly thrown the race away by hanging right in the home straight. Both have won on turf, hence that’s not a worry, however the presence of Living Leader could give them more to think about. The Grace Harris-trained gelding looked the likely winner until caught close home at Newmarket 15 days ago and he might not be for passing on this occasion.

Selection: Living Leader

Race 7 – 5:35 – “The Range” Handicap – Class 5 – 5f 2y

Race Analysis:

Only a neck separated Dancing Juice and Bashida (IRE) when they led the field home in that order at Redcar last time. However, Bashida is fancied to win the rematch now that’s he’s reunited with Hayley Turner on this much stiffer track, which clearly suits his run-style far better. Other to consider in what is a wide-open finale are Vodka Chaser (IRE), off the mark at the 17th time of asking in a similar standard Yarmouth race 8 days ago, plus Katja, who made eye-catching late headway at Newbury on her most recent start.

Selection: Bashida (each-way)
