The meeting is subject to an 8am inspection. Here are our free Leicester tips today, statistics, and exclusive race-by-race analysis.

Race 1 – 1:15 – Croxton Park Novices´ Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

Buckhorn Timothy built on some decent placed efforts by winning at Exeter yesterday. If turning again so soon and notwithstanding accidents only Becauseshesaidso (IRE) stands between Colin Tizzard’s gelding and a quick-fire double, however the Carlisle bumper scorer will be no pushover given he’ll  relish the testing conditions. Note also that Becauseshesaidso is due to be partnered by Aidan Coleman who is riding at the peak of his powers, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat on more than one occasion in recent weeks.

Selection: Buckhorn Timothy

Race 2 – 1:50 – Humberstone Handicap Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

Obitstar (FR) has three seconds to his name but no wins and after throwing in an absolute shocker last time David Pipe has opted to equip the gelding with headgear. Blinkers won’t necessarily do the trick so we prefer to side with November’s game Uttoxeter scorer Rose Of The World (IRE), who then ran as well as could be expected in a far stronger listed race. The handicapper has allotted the mare a fair opening mark and on an each-way basis looks a solid enough bet in a race with a wide-open feel. Useful amateur Sam Painting did a good job steering home Murrayana (IRE) at Plumpton and it’s great to see him back on board after a disappointingly distant third back at the same track since. Conor Dore has booked top jockeys for both of his horses, A Little Bit Dusty and Yasir (USA), neither of whom can be discounted given they’ve won a total of 20 races (Flat and jumping) between them.

Selection: Rose Of The World

Race 3 – 2:20 – Dick Christian Novices´ Chase – Class 3 – 2m

Race Analysis:

A dreadfully small turnout though thankfully three class acts on show. Tanjo de Juilley (FR) was a 130-rated useful hurdler who has improved since sent chasing, winning at Kempton and demonstrating further progress when runner-up at Wincanton since. The fourth home in that race lifted a £43K prize at Ascot on Saturday, underlining the strength of the form. Algernon Pazham (IRE) was of a similar standard over hurdles, winning in that sphere when last seen in March. He’s another likely to get better for the switch to the bigger obstacles, thus it would be no surprise were the son of Milan to produce some fireworks despite such a long absence. Judged by his limited number of outings Sail By The Sea (IRE) has been not been straightforward to train, nonetheless he’s potentially smart and lost nothing in defeat against a couple of good horses on his recent Plumpton chase debut. Sure to come on for the run, together with the application of a first-time tongue, we are swayed marginally in favour of Tom Scudamore’s mount.

Selection: Sail By The Sea

Race 4 – 2:55 – SIS+ Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m 7f 110y

Race Analysis:

Smart Catch (IRE) was ridden by Lee Edwards when scoring over course-and-distance in November 2013 and again when the pair went in at Market Rasen in March, so it could be that Vivacissimo (IRE) is the more favoured of Tony Carroll’s two runners. The Twiston-Davies team set a similar puzzle by fielding both Herecomesthehollow (IRE), runner-up at Chepstow last time, and Rossoneri (IRE), now dropped 8lb as a result of a couple of poor efforts. Back any of that quartet comes with risks attached hence Take The Mick gets our vote. He held every chance until a mistake knocked the stuffing out of him at Lingfield’s third-last fence in December, however likely much fitter for the outing now seems the ideal the time to get financially involved.

Selection: Take The Mick

Race 5 – 3:25 – EBF Stallions Mares´ “National Hunt” Novices´ Hurdle – Class 3 – 2m

Race Analysis:

The promising conditional jockey Jamie Bargary showed just why he’s been getting some rave reviews by aggresively making all aboard Abigail Lynch (IRE) to convincingly beat 17 rivals (Morello Royale (IRE) third) in a similar mares’ only event at Wincanton last time. Previously she’d won at Uttoxeter and plenty will fancy the progressive seven-year-old to complete her hat-trick. Towcester winner Quiet Candid (IRE) took no prisoners by pulling well clear but Taniokey (IRE) needs to bounce back from a dreadful effort at Newbury when last of 7. Dolores Delightful (FR) is consistent and could also be in the shake-up to what is shaping to be a cracking contest for its’ type.

Selection: Abigail Lynch

Race 6 – 4:00 – Brook “Hands And Heels” Handicap Chase (Conditionals/Amateurs) (Racing Excellence Initiative) – Class 5 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

For the second race in a row we like the chances of Jamie Bargary who partners the potential market leader Ball Hopper (IRE). The eleven-year-old has only won once from 13 starts, that said he still looks the best of a bad bunch and at least arrives here in some sort of form for all he had no chance with an easy winner when runner-up at Towcester on his latest start. Home For Tea has failed to get his head in front thus far though has managed a couple of seconds and didn’t run too badly when a rallying fourth on his most recent Huntingdon outing.

Selection: Ball Hopper

Leicester Racecourse hosts an exciting 6-race jumps card this afternoon. The going has been declared as SOFT (Heavy in places) on the Hurdle Course; Chase Course – GOOD TO SOFT (Soft in places). Here are our free Leicester horse racing tips, statistics, and exclusive race-by-race analysis.

Race 1 – 1:00 – Nomad Novices´ Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Not the strongest Novice Hurdle and this looks a good opportunity for Bidourey (FR) to make it a four timer, as he still seemed to have plenty in the tank when winning at Fontwell last month. The main danger could come from Cathedral who looked in need of the experience when making his debut here in November and could well improve plenty for that run. War And Contrition (IRE) made a promising debut for Charlie Longsdon at Towcester on Boxing Day and could also be in the mix.

Selection: Bidourey

Race 2 – 1:30 – Leicester Annual Members Novices´ Limited Handicap Chase – Class 3 – 2m 7f 110y

Race Analysis:

An open looking Handicap Chase and Gold Ingot was an unlucky 2nd to Saints and Sinners when we saw him run at Doncaster in November, but got off the mark well at Newcastle last time out stepped up to 3m, he is up 8lb today but back down in trip, so has to be on the shortlist. Irish Buccaneer (IRE) made plenty of mistakes on his chasing debut at Worcester in October, but still managed to get up into 2nd, ahead of Wilton Milan who has won since. If he manages to put in a cleaner round today he could well be hard to stop. Salmanazar is another who has loked far more at home over fences and a decent 3rd at Exeter last month makes him the last one for out shortlist.

Selection: Irish Buccaneer

Race 3 – 2:00 – Dove Selling Hurdle – Class 5 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

A weak seller and Boston Blue has excelled here in these type of races over the past couple of months, including last time out when beating his nemesis Swampfire by a massive 12 lengths. If in the same form today he will prove very hard to beat. The danger could be Stow who won four of these events at this time last year and looks dangerously well in if re-discovering that type of form.

Selection: Stow

Race 4 – 2:30 – Aquafield Training Handicap Chase – Class 5 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

A tricky handicap chase, with some of these blowing hot and cold. Mister Wiseman  is a great example, when on his game he could win this comfortably, as he showed at Market Rasen in the summer when winning back to back chases. However his run on Boxing Day at Fontwell was a shocker and resulted in him being pulled up. Thedreamistillalive (IRE) moved to the Twiston-Davies yard last week and makes his debut for them, although he lacks resolve in the finish, he certainly showed enough when winning an amateur race here in March that he can win at this lowly grade. He may need a run after that 307 day break though. Toowoomba (IRE) looks on a very winnable mark if running anywhere near his hurdles form and showed enough at Ludlow on his chasing debut to suggest that he will improve plenty for that run.

Selection: Toowoomba

Remember to join the Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service to receive our 2 best bets every day via email. Simply visit Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service for further details.

Race 5 – 3:00 – Groby Novices´ Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Another wide open affair and Benefique Royale was a decent hurdler who had put in a couple of decent efforts over fences before coming down at Wincanton in November. The booking of 7lb claimer Lizzie Kelly puts him on a very attractive weight for this. Winning Irish point to  pointer Knockyoursocksoff (IRE) failed to deliver over hurdles, but he has always looked like chasing would be his game and an opening mark of only 85 for his chasing debut makes him very interesting. Sambulando (FR) is returning from a break to make his chasing debut and he just sneaks in at the top of the weights, although he could need the run after his break.

Selection: Benefique Royale

Race 6 – 3:30 – Chieftain Handicap Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

A trappy handicap to finish the card and Mr Fitzroy (IRE) made a winning start to his hurdles career on heavy ground at Lingfield last month, up 5lb today he will appreciate the slightly quicker conditions and could well follow up. Goldie Horn won a couple of selling hurdles in the summer but has struggled back in handicap company although the handicapper has cut her some slack and dropped her a 1lb or this race. She certainly was not disgraced at Huntingdon last time out and can be involved again here. Worldor (FR) moved to Alexandra Dunn from Henry De Bromhead in the summer and has struggled to find the form which saw him winning in Ireland off marks as high as 111, however he looked back on song when winning last time out and this mark could prove lenient if back to his best.

Selection: Mr Fitzroy

Today’s Going & Weather

Leicester Racecourse hosts an exciting 6-race jumps card this afternoon. The going for Leicester races has been declared as HEAVY on the Hurdle Course; Chase Course  GOOD TO SOFT (Soft in places). Here are our free  tips, statistics, and exclusive race-by-race analysis.

Remember to join the Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service to receive our 2 best bets every day via email. Simply visit Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service for further details.

Race 1 – 1:10 – Stilton Handicap Chase – Class 3 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Judging by Un Anjou’s performance last Friday at Wincanton when seeking a hat-trick, you’d have to say the handicapper has a firm grip on his chances. Nozic could go well if given the run of the race out in front with a clean round of jumping, but must surely be on the decline now at the age of 13. Sands Cove has not won since May 2013 but is in with every chance today. Noel Fehily comes to Leicester for just a pair of rides and will be imagining a win aboard the Charlie Mann trained gelding if he bounces back to his Kempton form from October when seen finishing second behind the useful Violets Boy.

Selection: Sands Cove

Race 2 – 1:40 – Old Year Novices´ Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

Aso may still be carrying a bit too much weight having romped home at Warwick, yet did put in a fair performances at Sandown latest. He still gives plenty of weight away to Relic Rock however who slips a tongue-tie on for the first time. The Brian Ellison trained gelding was an impressive bumper performer and will now have to show he can improve further over timber. It didn’t go his way when odds-on favourite and narrowly beaten by Glingerburn at Doncaster; a reversal of that result is expected today. Simply The West is also worth a mention having won at Bangor but, like Aso, will have to wrestle a big weight round this testing track.

Selection: Relic Rock

Race 3 – 2:10 – Leicestershire Silver Fox Handicap Chase – Class 3 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

Ray Diamond is bang in form having won two of his last three starts yet further improvement is required today as he steps up in class with an extra 9lbs in the saddle. Musical Guy’s success has invariably come when tackling further distances and he may find himself a touch flat footed against some of today’s rivals. You’d have to expect Tafika to come on for her run at Southwell and will be there or thereabouts at the finish. Fairy Rath looks weighted to win off 122 and just like the previously mentioned Tafika will come on a lot for his seasonal reappearance at Ascot last month. Highway Code could go close if he decides not pull his head around for the first six furlongs but claimer M G Nolan will certainly have a job on his hands.

Selection: Fairy Rath

Race 4 – 2:40 – Parsley Selling Hurdle – Class 5 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

Bunclody is interesting having been off the track for almost a year and a half along with a change of scenery; keep an eye out for any significant market support. His older form would make him the yardstick for this race.  Stow just ran out of petrol last time over course and distance and is likely to go close again. He should have the better of Persian Herald who may need more than Callum Bewley’s 7lb allowance to reverse that form. 2m 4f about Leicester on testing ground is unlikely to suit Boston Blue who could well be found out for stamina.

Selection: Bunclody

Remember to join the Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service to receive our 2 best bets every day via email. Simply visit Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service for further details.

Race 5 – 3:10 – Great Glen Novices´ Chase – Class 3 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

You wont find many race previews that give the nod to anybody else but the brilliant Melodic Rendezvous. Good enough to be a genuine Grade 1 contender amongst the 2-mile hurdlers, he made a nervy yet victorious debut over fences at Bangor. He was interestingly booked to follow that up in the Grade 2 Wayward Lad Novices Chase at Kempton yesterday but has decided to target this race instead as part of a slower yet hopefully successful graduation to the top level. Mrs Peachey would be marginally preferred to Couldhaveitall but the expectation for this duo is to step into a winnable handicap off a fair mark in the spring. Killala Quay is the most likely challenger stepping down in class for more realistic attempt at breaking his duck over the bigger obstacles. . Unfortunately, it looks like there is one too good in the field today as well.

Selection: Melodic Rendezvous

Race 6 – 3:40 – Leicestershire Bronze Fox Handicap Hurdle – Class 3 – 2m

Race Analysis:

A popular horse that returned a handsome 8/1 winner with our Racing Profits Guides Email Service subscribers (www.RacingProfitsGuides.com/EmailService), Dormouse looks like he’ll go close again. If Rayvin Black can build on his performance at Wincanton and importantly show a tad more composure to travel less keenly this time around, he’ll go very close off a winnable mark of 120. It is Favourite Girl however who looks to be in at the weights today with Nigel Twiston-Davies’ frequently used and exciting young jockey Ryan Hatch claiming a most valuable 5lbs aboard a mare that has shown good form in her last two outings at Huntingdon. A convincing win over course and distance has seen Bladoun hiked up 13lbs by the handicapper and he also leapfrogs up into a Class 3 contest for the first time; a horse going the right direction but with a very tough task ahead.

Selection: Favourite Girl

Race 1 – 12:40 – Racing Excellence Conditional Jockeys´ Training Series Novices´ Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

An interesting Novice Hurdle to start the card today and this looks to be all about the top 3 in the market. Neville was stepped up to 3m last time out and although he finished 2nd he looked to be at his limit, so this drop back to 2m 4f makes him of interest. Kilgeel Hill (IRE) ran a decent 2nd at Fontwell last month over this trip finishing 3 lengths behind the decent looking Rock The Kasbah, he has to be in the mix today. Orchard Boy (IRE) is the other of interest with some decent bumper runs under his belt and making his hurdles debut.

Selection: Neville

Race 2 – 1:10 – Yuletide Novices´ Limited Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

As the betting suggests, this is a wide open Handicap Chase and not one to be going too big on. Cloud Creeper (IRE) makes his chasing debut today and could be well treated if hitting anywhere near his hurdles form. He was a consistent hurdler and has to be on the shortlist. Rhapando was a little unlucky to fall last month at Doncaster when going well, the winner that day was Saints and Sinners who has gone in again since. So provided his confidence is not too badly dented, he is worth a look. Ergo Sum is another first time chaser today but he won well at Doncaster over hurdles last time out and looks to have plenty of progression left in him. Achimota (IRE) has a little more experience over fences and has finished runner up on two occassions so far, this looks an opportunity for him to go close.

Selection: Achimota

Race 3 – 1:40 – Mistletoe Selling Hurdle – Class 5 – 2m

Race Analysis:

A trappy little seller and three who meet again quickly in Swampfire (IRE) , Boston Blue and Spin Cast who all battled it out over course and distance. Swampfire came out on top that day and looks likely to uphold that form over them even with his 6lb penalty. The other who could cause an upset is Double U Dot Ede’s who went off the 5/4f last month here in heavy conditions and went down by 10 lengths in 2nd. The ground looks perfect for him today and he could be the one to side with.

Selection: Double U Dot Ede’s

Race 4 – 2:10 – SIS Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m 7f 110y

Race Analysis:

Another wide open Handicap Chase and Carli King (IRE) progressed well over fences last season and although looking in need for the run at Doncaster he was up against a short priced favourite in Guiding George and finished 18 lengths of the 3rd horse that day. The main danger could be Dont Do Mondays (IRE) who won well over 2m 6f at Fontwell and has now progressed to a career high mark of 120. The other of interest is Master Rajeem (USA) who has placed on both his outings over fences so far and is still 5lb below his best hurdles form.

Selection: Carli King

Remember to join the Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service to receive our 2 best bets every day via email. Simply visit Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service for further details.

Race 5 – 2:40 – Ivy Novices´ Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Another open handicap with some seasoned campaigners coming up against some unexposed types. Henri De Boistron (FR) has only had the one run over fences and looks entitled to plenty of improvement after a promising debut at the end of October and if he can cut out some of the silly mistakes he can go close. Snowell (IRE) joined Emma Baker in October and showed plenty over hurdles when winning three in a row earlier this year for his previous yard. He was badly hampered when going well at Fontwell and deserves another chance. The last one for the shortlist is Larteta (FR) who is starting to look a little exposed over fences but is always in and around the action and can land one of these one day.

Selection: Snowell

Race 6 – 3:10 – Advent Handicap Hurdle – Class 3 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

A race which looks to be all about Theregoesthetruth (IRE) who won by an eased down 9 lengths over course and distance last week and looks value to overturn her 7lb rise in the weights. Brownville looks to be the biggest danger, making his handicap debut, he has shown a progressive profile, a winning point to pointer in Ireland and in bumpers over here. At the prices he could well offer some value against the favourite. Regulation (IRE) was rated 100 on the flat and has shown enough in two runs over hurdles to warrant a mention, if he continues to progress.

Selection: Theregoesthetruth

Race 1 – 1:00 – Knighton Novices´ Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

A good-sized field for the opener in which Taj Badalandabad (IRE) bids to follow up his impressive Chepstow victory. David Pipe’s raider has a penalty to carry as result and faces potentially stern opposition from Spice Fair,  a seven-time winner on the Flat who made a solid start to his hurdling career when only beaten a length over course and distance 17 days ago. Point-to-point winner Wild Bill was also runner-up on his first outing under Rules, but that was in a 4-runner race at Fakenham over further, and he shapes as needing a stiffer test of stamina than this. Isaac Bell (IRE) won a bumper when trained in Ireland and for all he was beaten 15 lengths into second on his British debut at Warwick that was still a decent effort given the gelding finished well clear of the other 16 contestants, including the distant fourth, Ballyknock Lad (IRE).

Selection: Taj Badalandabad

Race 2 – 1:30 – Barkby Conditional Jockeys´ Selling Hurdle – Class 5 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

Stow won a claimer and a seller in the spring which brought his career total up to a more-then-respectable 11 wins. Our selection ran well enough in a Plumpton handicap last time to suggest yet more success awaits now that he’s dropped back down in grade. Ringa Bay comes out on top according to official ratings, nor did he run too badly when second of 4 at Towcester recently. However, all 4 of his wins have come over the bigger obstacles, and on that basis we prefer Stow. Seaside Shuffle (IRE) won and was third in similar events at Fakenham on his most recent couple of starts, but at these weights he has a mountain to climb. Persian Herald also faces a stiff task, that said he’s a most consistent sort and cannot be discounted if other underperform, which is often the case for basement-level animals.

Selection: Stow

Race 3 – 2:05 – Clipston Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Clan William (IRE) would arguably have won at Newcastle 20 days ago but for a calamitous final-fence fall. He was cruelly put up 3lb for that debacle which seems grossly unfair on connections who have opted to book the brilliant horseman, James Reveley, in the hope he can sit tight for the whole contest. In-form Malibu Sunset has won 3 of his last 4 races, however he’s never been anything like so high in the handicap and might well be anchored by top-weight. Contrastingly Pearls Legend has eased back down to his last winning mark and will strip fitter for his seasonal reappearance when a fair Uttoxeter fourth of 8. Uttoxeter was also the venue for Lemon’s Gent latest 2-length second in mid-July. Paul Webber’s seven-year-old has scored off a break in the past and it’s worth noting that his underrated trainer boasts a fair record at this track.

Selection: Lemon’s Gent (each-way)

Race 4 – 2:35 – Stonesby Mares´ Handicap Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

Having previously shown only the merest hint of ability Craftybird proceeded to bolt up in a 5-runner 2m seller here in mid-November. There was no fluke about that win and she really is impeccably bred, by top sire Mastercraftsman out of a Sadler’s Wells mare. So, despite this being a far tougher assignment, we’ll stick with a winning formula and make Craftybird our selection. Worcester winner Boherna Lady (IRE) flopped at Towcester on her follow-up bid, while the consistent Dewala is hard to win with and must also defy a 225-day absence. Hexham (2m) runner-up Nouveau Moulin (IRE) was thrashed on her sole try over this trip but Asuncion stays well and should find a race of this nature before long. Sunshine Buddy sprung a 33/1 surprise at Chepstow where Theregoesthetruth (IRE) was 2 lengths back in third, however the first-named was only third at the same track since, nor is her stamina guaranteed.

Selection: Craftybird (each-way)

Race 5 – 3:10 – Mountsorrel Novices´ Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m 7f 110y

Race Analysis:

Neil Mulholland’s horses are red-hot and Ballydague Lady (IRE) is no exception, winning her last couple of races, most recently at Sedgefield on Tuesday. She was unextended that day and holds every chance of defying her 7lb penalty, especially as the highly-promising conditional jockey Martin McIntyre, who previously won on the selection at Fontwell, is able to take a monster 10lb off the in-form mare’s back.  Easy Beesy now goes in cheekpieces having tossed away his race when at the head of affairs until falling 3 out at Lingfield 23 days ago. He’s a progressive sort and is preferred to Kings Apollo, thumped 19 lengths into second on his latest visit here.

Selection: Ballydague Lady

Race 6 – 3:40 – Waltham On The Wolds Handicap Hurdle – Class 5 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Bladoun (FR) has yet to win, plus has a year-long absence to overcome, nevertheless he goes in a tongue tie and cheekpieces which suggests team Pipe means business.  Saint Helena (IRE) has been placed on her last 2 starts, however Jim Best’s runners are often over-bet and on each of those occasions she went off at a relatively short price but never looked likely to deliver. Helamis hails from a shrewd stable and had little difficulty despatching 7 rivals at Huntingdon, a race in which the favourite, Lost In Newyork (IRE), was a bitterly disappointing sixth. Despite going back up 9lb Helamis remains in with a fighting chance of following up and with the excellent Trevor Whelan once again doing the steering gets the nod to take the nightcap.

Selection: Helamis

Race 1 – 12:40 – Lubenham Novices´ Limited Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

A cracking opener in which Stellar Notion (IRE) bids to defy a 284-day absence. Having won a bumper and novice hurdle he lost nothing in defeat when coming up against the potentially high-class Un Ace. He now goes chasing which says plenty about the size and scope of the gelding, nor has trainer Tom George missed a trick by heading straight into handicap company where our selection’s rating appears to be lenient to say the least. Uttoxeter winner Crookstown has failed to cope with a rise in the weights since, so more of a threat may emerge from Couldhavehaditall, who ended last season on the up and is bred to make the grade over fences. Guanciale won a handicap hurdle on debut for Dai Burchall and his chase form is equally good, so he can’t be discounted with only a featherweight to carry.

Selection: Stellar Notion

Race 2 – 1:10 – East Farndon Selling Hurdle – Class 5 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Swampfire (IRE) is now with his fifth different trainer and also on the downgrade, nonetheless he has plenty in hand according to the Official Ratings plus was still travelling with zest until falling 3 out in a Huntingdon claimer on his latest start. Spin Cast finished a fair second at Bangor in August and should be thereabouts if back to that sort of level with the help of a first-time tongue tie. Boston Blue was runner-up at Chepstow a year ago and fit from a spell on the Flat completes our shortlist in a weak race.

Selection: Swampfire

Race 3 – 1:45 – Jayne Ferguson Memorial Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m 7f 110y

Race Analysis:

Top-weight Midnight Cataria was still going well when hitting the deck 3 out at Worcester and if his confidence remains intact looks to hold every chance. Potentially an even better bet is the unexposed low-mileage Danners (IRE), who belied his 20/1 outsiders odds to finish fourth in the same contest, not only that he ran as if just in need of the outing on return from a 6-month absence. The Ould Lad (IRE) cleared right away from his 6 Warwick rivals for which a hike of 8lb looks more than fair, but he has yet to prove his stamina having never tackled a trip of this magnitude. After successive victories at Plumpton and Uttoxeter Famousandfearless (IRE) flopped on his hat-trick attempt. He looks high enough in the weights for the moment, while Sail And Return might well come on for the outing on the back of a 171-day break.

Selection: Danners (each-way)

Race 4 – 2:15 – Mick Audley Livestock Trader 80th Birthday Handicap Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

John Louis was no mug on the Flat, winning four races for Phil McBride. He’s yet to collect over hurdles, but his latest sixth of 19 in a Class 4 handicap suggests he’s ready to take advantage of this drop in grade. It’s hard to accurately assess the strength of Batavir’s (FR) French form, that said he couldn’t be in better hands and doubtless the betting will reveal how he has been shaping since arriving on these shores. Dual-purpose performer A Little Bit Dusty has already won 15 races under both codes and fit  from the level he’s not out of it either, a comment which also applies to Chepstow scorer Rock On Rocky, who made all that day and should ensure they go a decent clip here provided Charlie Poste adopts similarly aggressive tactics.

Selection: John Louis (each-way)

Race 5 – 2:50 – Clipston Handicap Chase – Class 5 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

One For The Boss (IRE) bolted up over course-and-distance at the last meeting but the fact he went up 9lb as a result tempers enthusiasm on the follow-up attempt. With that in mind fellow track-and-trip winner Crescent Beach (IRE) is preferred. Henry Oliver’s gelding ran better than his final placing suggested here last time and should now be cherry-ripe after a trio of comeback runs. Croco Mister (IRE) has too many seconds to his name for comfort while the returning Lord Fox (IRE) still looks in the grip of the handicapper.

Selection: Crescent Beach

Race 6 – 3:20 – Fernie Novices´ Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

An uncompetitive finale which should fall to Private Malone (IRE), albeit at cramped odds. Emma Lavelle’s runner made mincemeat of his 9 rivals when making a successful hurdling debut Worcester and since that race was stronger than his he’ll likely shrug off a 7lb penalty. Point-to-point winner Baku Bay (IRE) has hinted at ability under Rules and makes most appeal to chase the certain hot-favourite home. Sacrobleu (FR) cut little ice in a bumper but hails from a stable enjoying a terrific campaign and the switch to jumping plus longer trip might well enable him to step up on that disappointing first outing.

Selection: Private Malone

Race 1 – 12:45 – Ashby Magna Juvenile Fillies´ Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

A fascinating opener to get the card underway featuring a couple of easy winners, plus a very interesting French import. Isabella Liberty (FR) bolted up on her hurdling debut at Fakenham where stablemate Olymnia was a distant third. Nyanza, from the stable that won this 12 months ago, similarly despatched her Huntingdon rivals with consummate ease. Announcement’s Musselburgh second doesn’t look good enough, however the well-bred daughter of Hurricane Run, Annalulu (IRE), has been purchased off the Flat from France by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing and sent to Paul Nicholls, which suggests the filly could turn out to be a class act over jumps.

Selection: Annalulu

Race 2 – 1:15 – Eastwelll Selling Hurdle – Class 5 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Mr Lando has been rated as high as 117 over hurdles and the versatile gelding added to his tally on the Flat as recently as October. Barring accidents Tony Carroll’s gelding should win this poor race if anywhere near his best, possibly at the main expense of Double U Dot Ede’s who has bits and pieces of low-grade form. Bottom-of-the barrel Flat maiden Craftybird was a well beaten third in a Ludlow claimer 25 days ago, while Tetrology (IRE) didn’t even complete on his Hexham return to action. Chief Executive (IRE) couldn’t even manage to get placed on 13 tries on the Flat, but there’s always a chance that 8 flights of hurdles might perk him up, nor could the bar be set much lower for this first try over the sticks.

Selection: Mr Lando

Race 3 – 1:45 – Katherine Swynford Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m 7f 110y

Race Analysis:

Top-weight Rio Milan (IRE) is out of sorts, nor has he ever won, hence is hard to fancy unless first-time cheekpieces have a miraculous effect. Dual scorer Rossa Parks (IRE) has come down the weights since winning at this time of the year in 2013 and the mare will also strip fitter for last month’s Huntingdon spin, but Generous Chief (IRE) is starting to look like a lost cause with no wins from 11 starts. Kings Apollo makes a swift reappearance having disappointed at Ludlow on Thursday, while it’s a similar story for Crescent Beach (IRE), who never really gave favourite backers much hope at Fakenham 11 days ago. Buddy Love also failed to justify his position at the head of the market on his most recent Towcester outing, neither is he certain to stay this stamina-sapping trip.

Selection: Rossa Parks

Race 4 – 2:20 – Weatherbys Handicap Hurdle – Class 3 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Zafranagar (IRE) narrowly edged out Canadian Diamond (IRE) in the 2013 running of this race. The latter hasn’t run for a while, however Zafranagar was given a pipeopener over fences recently and should make a bold bid to win the race for the second year in succession. Former course-and-distance winner Malanos (IRE) has tumbled 13lb in the weights since scoring at Huntingdon in 2012. He missed the whole of 2013 but didn’t run badly when given a spin on the level last month, which will help fitness-wise on this return to the National Hunt arena. Mystery Drama won the Juvenile Hurdle at this meeting last year and if none the worse for her recent Sandown tumble is entitled to take a hand.

Selection: Malanos (each-way)

Race 5 – 2:50 – John O´Gaunt Beginners´ Chase – Class 3 – 2m

Race Analysis:

Three Kingdoms (IRE) was the equal-highest rated of these over hurdles, demonstrating terrific course form in that sphere just under a year ago when bolting up over this trip. He’s fancied to make a successful chasing debut, possibly at the main expense of Deep Trouble (IRE) who picked up a valuable prize when last seen 198 ago at the Punchestown Festival. Useful hurdler Thomas Crapper has run two sound races since switched to the bigger obstacles but that isn’t the case for Gone Too Far, a first-fence faller on his recent chase debut. Dual hurdles scorer Such A Legend needs to improve on what he achieved over timber, however that’s entirely possible given the gelding’s likeable physique.

Selection: Three Kingdoms

Race 6 – 3:20 – Castle Conditional Jockeys´ Handicap Chase – Class 5 – 2m 4f 110y

Race Analysis:

It hasn’t taken long for Henry Tett to get his well-handicapped new inmate Bally Gunner back to form, the nine-year-olds latest Fontwell second a decent effort on which he’s fancied to build by going one better here. Little Jimmy will doubtless run his usual honest race, but confidence is tempered judged by the way an easy winner brushed him aside at Ffos Las last time. One For The Boss (IRE) also occupied the runners-up spot on his most recent start, again though making no impression on the winner in the closing stages. Verteux (FR) won a weak fast-ground handicap hurdle at Towcester in October, however he’s since bombed back on the Flat and makes little appeal on this belated chase debut.

Selection: Bally Gunner

Remember to join the Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service to receive our 2 best bets every day via email. Simply visit Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service for further details.

Race 7 – 3:50 – Burton Overy Novices´ Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m

Race Analysis:

An interesting finale in which Spice Fair comes to hurdling quite late in life, however he won for the seventh time on the level when successful at Beverley in August and if transferring that level of ability over to jumps he would entitled to every chance in this race. Two-time Flat winner Jebril (FR) made the perfect start to his hurdling career by upsetting some far more fancied rivals at Plumpton, while the unbeaten Miles To Memphis (IRE) picked up a brace of bumpers prior to similarly making a successful start in this sphere by seeing off 9 rivals at Fontwell.

Selection: Jebril

Race 1 – 1:00 – Haymarket Nursery Handicap – Class 6 – 7f 9y – Div 1

Race Analysis:

Maybe Now Baby (IRE) was staying on the strongly towards the end of a valuable Class 2 soft-ground Newmarket Nursery 10 days ago when 6th of 15 and has the form in the book to win this much lesser Class 6 contest with authority. Quae Supra showed he can handle testing conditions when third here over 1m to a far better fancied stablemate a fortnight ago. The drop back in trip shouldn’t be a problem and he makes more appeal than The Olympus Man, who ploughed the mud to finish a fair fifth in a Windsor maiden on his latest start. Machiavelian Storm (IRE) caught the eye with his finishing effort at Kempton last time and looks on a winnable mark on this first try in a handicap provided she is not undone by this rain-softened surface.

Selection: Maybe Now Baby

Race 2 – 1:30 – Haymarket Nursery Handicap – Class 6 – 7f 9y – Div 2

Race Analysis:

Richard Fahey sent out no less than four winners at Doncaster on Saturday, including one in the nursery, which bodes well for the prospects of Miss Van Gogh who posted a much-improved third at Ayr last time. The filly is unproven on testing ground, nonetheless looks worth chancing on an each-way basis in a race that is way too difficult to predict with any measure of confidence. Ciaras Cookie (IRE) cannot be discounted having rallied bravely to regain the advantage at Brighton, while the other last-time-winner in the line-up, Ragtime Dancer, also holds leading claims if building on her victory in a 7f Lingfield maiden just over 3 months ago.

Selection: Miss Van Gogh (each-way)

Race 3 – 2:00 – Gumley Claiming Stakes – Class 6 – 7f 9y

Race Analysis:

Zain Zone (IRE) bagged the favoured nearside rail when winning a similar event over course and distance last time, however this looks a far stronger race and at the weights it’s very hard to get away from La Tinta Bay, who demonstrated a liking for a soft surface at Newbury when tbird of 8 in handicap company the time before last. Visored first time Swift Cedar and Trixie Malone both have the ability to get involved should for any reason La Tinta Bay underperform.

Selection: La Tinta Bay

Race 4 – 2:30 – SIS Handicap – Class 2 – 1m 60y

Race Analysis:

Quite a big gamble on Kosika (USA) went astray here (7f) last time, a race in which previous 1m track winner Loving Spirit made some late headway into seventh. The return to further will suit both though neither could be described as well-handicapped types. That remark, however, does not apply to God Willing, who was a good fourth to the mighty Kingston Hill in a 1m Group 3 race as a juvenile. Ed Dunlop’s colt has slipped down the weights this season and served notice that he is about to cash in via an encouraging back-to-form fourth of 11 at York 16 days ago. Stand My Ground (IRE) went down in the BHA ratings after nabbing a Musselburgh claimer which strongly suggests he’s not as good as he was, an opinion backed up by the fact that stable jockey Danny Tudhope has elected to ride O’Meara’s other runner, Ingleby Angel, a fair fifth of 13 on his latest Haydock outing.

Selection: God Willing (each-way)

Remember to join the Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service to receive our 2 best bets every day via email. Simply visit Racing Profits Guides Email Selection Service for further details.

Race 5 – 3:00 – British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes (Bobis Race) – Class 4 – 5f 218y

Race Analysis:

Sir Domino is bound to go off at very cramped odds, however he can’t be opposed having shown stacks of promise on his Redcar debut when chasing home an odds-on stablemate on similarly soft ground. Quintus Cerialis (IRE) ran his best race to date to bag third of 12 in a stronger race than this at York but floundered on his only try on a testing sufrace, while Seychelloise hinted at ability but no more than that at Wolverhampton and looks a typical Sir Mark Prescott slow-burner. Neither Pat Eddery nor Tony Carroll are given to producing first-time-out juvenile scorers, even so the newcomers Ertidaad (IRE) and Irish Belle (IRE) need a market check for any signs of stable confidence behind their respective youngsters.

Selection: Sir Domino

Race 6 – 3:30 – Sir Gordon Richards Handicap – Class 2 – 1m 3f 183y

Race Analysis:

The outcome of this race likely depends on the relative fitness of Blue Rambler, unbeaten when trained in France by Andre Fabre, including at listed level. A monster 483-day absence suggests the road back has not been easy for new handler Charlie Appleby, that said this Class 2 handicap could be there for the taking if he’s got the son of Monsun anywhere near his best. Neither Harris Tweed nor Shwaiman (IRE) appeal at a trip which won’t test the reserves of stamina possessed by both, but course-and-distance winner Rewaaya (IRE) has a major chance taking into account that she wasn’t beaten far in a valuable and competitive 24-runner handicap at Newmarket last time. Fattsota has also been in fine form, beaten only on the nod at York recently, and another with leading claims in a devilishly tricky contest.

Selection: Rewaaya

Race 7 – 4:00 – Cossington Median Auction Maiden Fillies´ Stakes (Bobis Race) – Class 5 – 5f 218y

Race Analysis:

Pastoral Girl ran well at Royal Ascot in June and even better when second in Group 3 there the following month, since when she has continued to be highly tried  in two listed contests in which she has been below form. Now dropped in grade victory should be a formality, though she doesn’t look one to take a short price about having failed to land the odds in a mid-season Warwick maiden. Paloma Dancer hasn’t shown much in two starts, while Spinaminnie (IRE) ran poorly when beaten 15 lengths on his recent Catterick debut.

Selection: Pastoral Girl

Race  8 – 4:30 – Fosse Way Amateur Riders´ Handicap (For Gentleman Amateur Riders) – Class 5 – 7f 9y

Race Analysis:

Freddy With A Y (IRE) beat all bar one in a 12-runner heavy-ground handicap over this trip at Brighton last time and deserves a change of luck given that was his fourth placed effort in a row. Another who doesn’t know how to run a bad race is Mendacious Harpy (IRE), successful at Catterick in September and not beaten far on either start since, including in bog-like conditions at a rain-lashed Windsor 7 days ago. Mfiftythreedotcom (IRE) completes the shortlist having finished runner-up on 3 of his most recent four starts, consistency which strongly suggests he’ll be in the thick of things once again.

Selection: Freddy With A  Y (each-way)

Leicester Racecourse hosts an exciting 8-race flat card this afternoon. The going for racing at Leicester today has been declared as SOFT, GOOD TO SOFT IN PLACES. Race 1 – 2:10 – Fosse Way Nursery Handicap – Class 6 – 1m 60y

Race Analysis:

There aren’t any world-beaters in the line-up for the opener but at least Chilworth Bells has won a race, getting off the mark in a 7f seller in mid-September for Mick Channon. He’s now in equally good hands and neither should today’s extra furlong be a problem. Courier and Sonar (IRE) represent top connections, that said both need to step up on some pretty dismal performances thus far. Onelastfling showed she was going the right way ahead of this first crack in a handicap when making late ground at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago, even so we prefer an each-way bet on Star Ascending (IRE), who has shown promise on all four starts, including when encountering this sort of rain-softened ground.

Selection: Star Ascending (each-way)

Race 2 – 2:40 – ebfstallions.com Reference Point Maiden Stakes (Bobis Race) (colts & geldings) – Class 4 – 7f 9y

Race Analysis:

Classic Collection hasn’t been seen since making a very pleasing debut when chasing home another Godolphin colt here in late-May. He handled the extremely testing conditions that day and this longer trip should also be right up his street. Maraakib (IRE) is the other obvious big player having been caught near the finish of a 7f soft-ground Newbury maiden on his latest start. Mutamid improved massively from first start to second by bagging third place at Kempton, however he goes into the unknown on this much more testing surface. All 5 newcomers have plenty to recommend them on pedigree, The Queen’s Conflicting Advice (USA) being of particular interest and it’ll be “hats off” for Her Majesty should her well-bred colt make a successful debut.

Selection: Classic Collection

Race 3 – 3:10 – Whissendine Selling Stakes – Class 6 – 7f 9y

Race Analysis:

Malachim Mist (IRE) has twice bombed of late for his new yard over hurdles but is dropped in grade and well-in on this return to the Flat, so should be in mix according to the official ratings. Cape Of Hope (IRE) destroyed his rivals in a similar course-and-distance contest for David Nicholls and his most recent second in a Wolverhampton claimer was also a decent effort, hence he too commands stacks of respect. The mud-loving Admirable Art (IRE) won a Chepstow seller last time and for all he has a bit to find at the weights the gelding’s ability to handle a testing surface gives him as good a shout. Zain Zone (IRE) is another to consider, though he often gives trouble in the stalls and to be quite frank seems untrustworthy, that said if putting his best foot forward he has the ability to win this.

Selection: Admirable Art

Race 4 – 3:40 – Wreake Handicap – Class 2 – 7f 9y

Race Analysis:

The feature event on the card has attracted plenty of in-form types including last week’s 1m course winner Loving Spirit. He only got up in the dying strides but the far more testing conditions will help negate the fact that he drops back to 7f. Cordite was only a length behind in third that day and now 3lb better off at the weights it should be very close between the pair once again. Another couple closely matched on their latest Newmarket run are Suzi’s Connoisseur (third) and Joey’s Destiny (IRE) for whom the cards didn’t fall right but still managed to finish fifth. He’s won at this track in the past and if things pan out better this time could take all the beating.

Selection: Joey’s Destiny (each-way)

Race 5 – 4:10 – British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes (Bobis Race) – Class 4 – 1m 60y – Div 1

Race Analysis:

Atab (IRE) made a promising start to her career when fourth of 10 at Salisbury and if handling this slower surface holds leading claims. Joining her on the shortlist is Arcano Gold (IRE), who improved out of all recognition to finish third on this type of ground at Newcastle in mid-August and might easily have progressed further as a result of his mini-holiday since. The potential problem for that pair is the presence of some eye-catching newcomers notably I Zingari and Beautiful Romance, both of whom are superbly-bred individuals hailing from top stables.

Selection: Atab

Race 6 – 4:40 – British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes (Bobis Race) – Class 4 – 1m 60y – Div 2

Race Analysis:

A few of Luca Cumani’s two-year-olds have gone well at long prices on debut this season, including 25/1 outsider of 6 Shakopee when chasing home an easy winner at Brighton. The colt will doubtless come on a ton for that outing, however he will have to improve significantly in order to lower the colours of likely hot favourite Emirates Skywards (IRE), who has bumped into a couple of useful sorts but should make no mistake this time. Mark Johnston has done well with his juveniles at this venue down the years and if there is to be an upset his Casila (IRE) might be the one to make her first start a winning one.

Selection: Emirates Skywards

Race 7 – 5:10 – Wymeswold Conditions Stakes (Bobis Race) – Class 3 – 7f 9y

Race Analysis:

The 95-rated dual previous winner Dougal (IRE) ran really well when 5th of 21 in a valuable Sales race at Doncaster’s St Leger meeting and is hard to oppose on that evidence. Johnny Barnes (IRE) couldn’t build on his Yarmouth debut success when well held at Goodwood next time, but still appeals more  as a threat than  Midtech Star (IRE), who landed a run-of-the-mill Wolverhampton maiden a fortnight ago.

Selection: Dougal

Race 8 – 5:40 – Stewards Handicap – Class 5 – 1m 1f 218y

Race Analysis:

The ground is likely to be very churned up for the finale which will suit recent heavy-ground Brighton winner Mister Mayday (IRE), who bids to defy his 6lb penalty. Lightly-raced Lobster Pot made all to win her Newcastle maiden 2 months ago and is another t0 consider carefully on this first try in a handicap. Exclusive Waters (IRE) was also successful at the Tyneside track last time out and he remains favourably weighted despite going back up 3lb for that victory. Topamichi was twice runner-up on soft ground over this trip in autumn 2013 off a mark of 76 in Class 4 events at Sandown, so he must enter each-way calculations having been shown some leniency by the assessor and is now able to race off 6lb lower in a lesser Class 5 contest here.

Selection: Topamichi (each-way)
